New locomotives – new names
We will continue the tradition and name the new C30-M locomotives built at our Tapa depot after the Tapa station managers. The most recently built locomotives were named Leo, Märt, and Oskar.
Locomotive No. 1558 was named Leo. The godfather of the locomotive is Leo Pärg, who ran the Tapa station in 1942–1944.
Locomotive No. 1566 was named Märt – the godfather of the locomotive is Märt Külvik. This is a tribute to the railwayman who managed the Tapa station in the most difficult wartime year – 1944.
Locomotive No. 1571 was named Oskar. The godfather of the locomotive is Oskar Kriisk, who has more than 42 years of railway experience. He ran the Tapa station in 1953–1954.
The names of previously built locomotives are:
1564 Adam (Adam Zmijevski, ran the Tapa station in 1909–1918)
1561 Karl (Karl Glaudan, ran the Tapa station in 1918–1933)
1559 Rudolf (Rudolf Bernhard Blauhut, ran the Tapa station in 1933–1940)
1570 Jakob (Jakob Roplik, ran the Tapa station in 1940–1941)
1560 Otto (Villu-Otto Vane, ran the Tapa station in 1941–1942)
