Operail will reduce the number of stations open for freight transport and launch a regular train service for small customers
We hereby inform customers of two changes to the organisation of Operail’s operation related to the significant reduction of freight volumes and the resulting need to adapt to the new circumstances.
Starting from May, we will offer the freight service for small consignments only between major Estonian freight stations. Opening up the Jõgeva, Ülemiste, Keila, and Kehra terminals for small-scale freight transport is currently not economically viable.
For large projects, we continue to welcome and encourage customers to contact us regardless of the station of destination or departure of the goods. We will look at each project individually and offer the best individual solution.
We are launching a new regular train service to serve small customers. The regular train service will allow customers with small volumes, the quantities of whose goods do not form a separate train/project, to continue freight transport by rail. It is possible to book space in a single wagon.
The regular train runs on two routes:
- Between Southern Estonia and Harju County (from Valga/Koidula via Tartu to the Port of Paldiski)
- Between Eastern Estonia and Harju County (from Narva to the Port of Paldiski)
Both trains depart once a week in both directions, stopping at major freight stations as required.
To book space on the wagon of a scheduled train, please contact our sales manager: Maire Talihärm (maire.taliharm@operail.com, +372 512 0901).
