Operail Repairs on Euroopa Liidu sertifitseeritud raudteeveeremi hooldaja
The Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority has adopted a decision to issue an extended ECM certificate to Operail Repairs – in addition to locomotives, we are now also a certified European maintenance and repair company for wagons.
“ECM, which stands for “entity in charge of maintenance”, is a European Union certificate which confirms that Operail has the competence and right to carry out maintenance and repairs of rolling stock registered in Europe,” said Jaanus Kaasik, main specialist of the Technology and Quality Department at Operail Repairs.
Operail Repairs first obtained the ECM certification for locomotive maintenance and repair last September, and now, the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority has extended it to wagons.
The ECM certificate confirms to potential customers that the company’s activities comply with EU requirements. “This will open up the European market for the maintenance and repair of rail vehicles, in addition to the 1,520 mm market,” Kaasik explained. The certificate also allows Operail Repairs to participate in EU tenders.
Operail Repairs OÜ is a subsidiary of AS Operail, which is engaged in the maintenance, repair, and modernisation of rolling stock, construction of locomotives, and other metalwork. Operail Repairs operates at the Tapa depot, with minor maintenance works also carried out at the Muuga depot.
