Ksenia Zahharenkova, the Head of Freight Transport Processes at Operail, has been selected as one of the five finalists in the freight category in the prestigious transport and logistics competition 2021 Amazon Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards.

The description of the category states that the award will be given to a woman who is innovative and excelling in her role within freight transport. Valentin Pallase, Director of Freight Transport Business Unit, who nominated Ksenia for the competition, said that Ksenia is definitely worth the award. “She quickly grasps new topics and starts to manage them skilfully. Ksenia is not afraid to ask questions and she is an excellent conversation partner on any topic related to our business,” added Pallase. “Ksenia is a young woman who successfully implements changes!”

According to Head of HR and Marketing Department Jane Etverk, Ksenia is curious, very systematic, thinks logically, and is very consistent. “She takes in new information very quickly, sees the big picture, and if the information presented is not logical, she can break down the process or problem to find the part that needs to be changed or corrected. She is always the first to offer help and we can always count on her,” said Etverk.

The Amazon Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards will be held for the 14th time in 2021. The competition highlights the important contribution of women in the transport and logistics sector, showcasing their progress and achievements, and creating new opportunities in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

According to the organisers, the proportion of women among the 1.7 million people working in the logistics and transport sector is only 20%. Research shows that diverse teams have better opportunities to implement innovation and promote growth, which is why the competition has a key role to play in highlighting success stories to inspire future female talent.
