Operail starts cooperation with major Finnish forest industry groups
Operail Leasing Finland Oy, part of the Operail Group has signed long-term cooperation agreements with major Finnish Forest industry groups for the rental of 195 chipwood wagons.
“Operail is very pleased to start cooperation with major Finnish forest industry groups, such as Metsä Group to be part of the Finnish forest industry supply chain. We are thankful to our partners for the trust placed on us,” said Paul Lukka, the member of the management board of Operail.
Wagon deliveries to the Finnish partners have already begun. The first 55 wagons have been handed over to partners for operation. All 195 wagons will be delivered by the end of this year. “The overall demand for the freight wagons continues strong and the investment that exceeds 10 million euros is in line with our long-term strategy to increase our presence in Finland and to expand out rolling stock rental business,” added Lukka. Operail has also founded Operail Finland Oy to provide freight transportation services in Finland.
Over the past year and a half, the Operail Group has acquired 1,500 new freight wagons and invested 70 million euros. The acquired wagons have been leased to international customers. In total the Operail Group manages 3,500 freight wagons, of which 2,300 are leased out and 1,200 in Group’s own use. Operail Leasing Finland Oy, a subsidiary of Operail is dedicated to supply freight wagons and related services to it Finnish customers.
